TESTIMONIALS

We really enjoy the fresh sourdough and olive bread each time we come to the Union Market in Washington DC. We always get some fresh vegetables, an assortment of interesting cheeses, and a condiment or two (don't give us that look... mayo is a good thing!) and we're set for lunch all week!

Great bread and great prices! I've been buying their bread for years and have never been disappointed. I prefer to buy in Union Market because I believe it's fresher, but I have also purchased from Glen's Market in Shaw. Sometimes the selection is slim later in the day on weekends so get there early if you need something specific.

Dear Friends

It’s been quite the year! 2017 has been busy, exciting, and kept us all on our toes here at Lyon Bakery.

We thank you for accompanying us on this journey and invite you to join us through 2018, too!

Here’s a recap of our 2017:

Our new Logo is up and running everywhere šŸ™‚

Come and visit us:

We hosted fun visits from our dear friends at St Ann’s Center for Children, Youth and Families, as well as our customer Sweetgreen who brought along 15 of their regular customers to see how their bread is made from scratch.

We also hosted lots of private tours from interested members of the public who buy our bread from Union Market and enjoy our products at restaurants, hotels and delis throughout the area.

We love to share what we do, with all ages — including the littlest of all.

We Got Dressed Up All Fancy:

In October, we were delighted to provide the bread for the DC Michelin Guide Awards 2017, hosted at the stunning French Embassy. Read this fun review in the WaPo by Emily Heil.

Where We’ve Been:

We went to Germany to check out the latest and greatest in baking equipment, visited with some fantastic bakers in Spain, and came home with lots of new ideas and inspiration. We also brought back a Spanish baking consultant for a few weeks and are now producing Pan Cristal *happy dance* in our Hyattsville bakery.

Charitable Causes:

This is one of our pillars, alongside making great bread. Giving back and sharing our good fortune is an enormous privilege for Lyon Bakery. We have recently joined forces with Food Rescue US, a fantastic organization that mobilises people that want to do good, with agencies and associations that need assistance. If you have a smart phone, you’re good to go. Please consider donating some of your time if you can. If you’re in the food business, this is a wonderful way to ensure your excess produce reaches those who need it.Ā

New Friends:

We welcomed over 100 new customers into our Lyon family in 2017!

2018 is going to be a big year for Lyon Bakery…stay tuned for what we have in the pipeline!

From our family to yours, we wish you a new year filled with health, peace and prosperity.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
