TESTIMONIALS

We really enjoy the fresh sourdough and olive bread each time we come to the Union Market in Washington DC. We always get some fresh vegetables, an assortment of interesting cheeses, and a condiment or two (don't give us that look... mayo is a good thing!) and we're set for lunch all week!

Great bread and great prices! I've been buying their bread for years and have never been disappointed. I prefer to buy in Union Market because I believe it's fresher, but I have also purchased from Glen's Market in Shaw. Sometimes the selection is slim later in the day on weekends so get there early if you need something specific.

October 2016

It’s been a busy month…
Washington DC was named a Michelin Guide city this month, and 12 restaurants have received 1 or 2 Michelin stars. This is wonderful news for the newly-starred establishments, and great news for the city. With our 12 stars, we equal Chicago. Lyon Bakery is proud to supply some of the newly-starred establishments.
In August, DC was named as the Bon Appetit Restaurant City of the Year. Supplying many of the restaurants mentioned by Bon Appetit, we are thrilled that our city has been recognized as a serious food destination.
The International Baking Industry Exposition (IBIE2016) took place earlier this month in Las Vegas. The aim of us attending this expo was to learn about how best to access the latest in suppliers and technology; and to ensure we remain at the cutting edge of all that we do at Lyon Bakery. We checked out the newest, the best, the most extraordinary and of course the prototypes of baking equipment. Baking is a multi-billion dollar industry where competition is tough. We came back to DC, confident in the knowledge that we are in a great position to continue providing our customers with the very best artisan bread.
See you back here in November!
