We really enjoy the fresh sourdough and olive bread each time we come to the Union Market in Washington DC. We always get some fresh vegetables, an assortment of interesting cheeses, and a condiment or two (don't give us that look... mayo is a good thing!) and we're set for lunch all week!

Great bread and great prices! I've been buying their bread for years and have never been disappointed. I prefer to buy in Union Market because I believe it's fresher, but I have also purchased from Glen's Market in Shaw. Sometimes the selection is slim later in the day on weekends so get there early if you need something specific.

Last year, we briefly mentioned a wonderful organization in Hyattsville, St Ann’s Center for Children, Youth and Families.

Run by a beautiful soul, Sister Mary Bader who is ably assisted by her remarkable staff, St Ann’s is a safe haven for young mothers, pregnant and/or with families to live, learn and grow.

St Ann’s has been healing and helping the vulnerable since 1860. Their work is of paramount importance and guided by immense love and nurturing.

Lyon Bakery is proud and humbled to be working with Sister Mary and her organization, playing our part, however small, in providing nutritious sustenance to those in need.

Here is a video made by CNN’s David Jenkins, highlighting our partnership with St Ann’s.

Stay tuned for future efforts that we and St Ann’s will be undertaking together.
